Gonda: A heartwarming example of responsive governance was witnessed during the Janata Darshan public grievance hearing held at the Collectorate campus in Gonda. District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan took immediate action after hearing the concerns of a differently-abled resident, arranging a tricycle for him on the spot and directing officials to ensure he receives disability pension and other eligible government benefits.

The beneficiary, Ramsaran, son of Badkau and a resident of Ganga Pandari village in Itiyathok block, had come to the Collectorate to seek assistance regarding the difficulties he faced in his daily life due to his disability. Limited mobility had made transportation and routine activities challenging for him.

Upon learning about his condition, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan personally stepped out of her office chamber to meet him. She listened attentively to his grievances and assessed the situation with sensitivity and concern.

Immediate Action Ordered

After hearing Ramsaran’s problems, the District Magistrate instructed the concerned departmental officials to take prompt action. Following her directions, a tricycle was provided to the differently-abled man within the Collectorate premises itself, offering him immediate relief and greater mobility.

Pension and Welfare Benefits to Be Ensured

The District Magistrate also directed officials to expedite the process of providing disability pension and other government welfare schemes for which Ramsaran is eligible. She emphasized that the government’s objective is to ensure that every deserving beneficiary receives timely access to welfare programs and public services.

Public Appreciates Humanitarian Approach

The swift and compassionate response by the district administration drew appreciation from people present at the public hearing. Observers described the action as an example of accountable governance and a reflection of the administration’s commitment to supporting vulnerable sections of society.

Focus on Welfare of Eligible Beneficiaries

Speaking on the occasion, the District Magistrate stated that issues concerning differently-abled persons and other eligible beneficiaries should be addressed on a priority basis. She reiterated that no deserving individual should be deprived of the benefits of government welfare schemes.
